free trade has become more prevalent across Europe and even in the world due to the easing of government restrictions as they believe that free trade is good trade. Globalistaion has helped businesses in many different domains to grow and to spread their businesses around the world. The constumers now can demand what they want by ordering what they want when they want and if a lot of people want whatever it is, people will make the producers make more or variants on it. Flattening organizations are more common because it is easy to start up and online business and then ship to the world.
With online businesses it allows people around the world to be influenced by over seas culture, for example fashion has a large impact over the web as people have a variety of fashion cultures at their fingertips, as fashion is one of the most frequently bought item online and has created a vary large business online and in everyday life. As in news for the past couple of years there has been loss of jobs and closures within city centres, creating eye sores in the high street all because online trade has become easily accessible and cheaper to run as globalisation has created connections through the virtual world.
ReplyDeleteAlthough online businesses can be a great thing, especially for those running the businesses, I think that Ben has a good point as we are seeing more and more high street stores close down. This isn't good for the businesses relying on people coming into their stores to buy products and I, personally, prefer picking out products I buy from a shop in person rather than buying online. It's sad to see that so many shops are having to close because of online competition but, on the other hand, there must be a lot of people out there who prefer to shop online or we wouldn't have had to come to this problem. For certain products, shopping online can be a good thing—you can source an item you want and pay half the price by getting it shipped from abroad, yet it's the exact same product that you would have bought in your local shop for twice as much. The reason people can make shopping online so cheap is because they have less overheads to pay for and if we want to pay less for everything then the sad truth is that there will eventually be no local shops left.
